"I got the idea for this song on an afternoon jog near my place in LA. On the side of the road I spotted some newly blooming flowers. It occurred to me that often our first instinct is to want to pick them and put them around our house or maybe use them as a gift, etc. However, if we leave the flowers, not only will more people enjoy their beauty but they will also live longer. I saw how that could be analogous to some relationships. Some people get so absorbed and possessive over their girlfriend/boyfriend that they end up taking away from them becoming all they need to be."
